Templet:Column-count
This template is used on a very large number of pages. To avoid large-scale disruption and unnecessary server load, any changes should first be tested in this template's /sandbox or /testcases subpage, or in your own user space. Columns are currently supported only by newer versions of Gecko-based browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox) and WebKit-based browsers (such as Google Chrome and Safari). All versions of Internet Explorer through to version 9 and Opera through to version 11 do not support columns. See here for more information. |
This template is a shortcut for producing columns using CSS. It generates the CSS for various browsers. Supported browsers are the current versions of Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
Usage
senisimInsert this template within a style tag of any block-style element:
{{column-count | [number of columns]}}
The default number of columns is 2.
Example
senisim- <div style="{{column-count|3}}">Lorem ipsum...</div> will produce:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.
